There\u2019s a lot of boys coming back.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no lack of desperation from the boys, it just hasn\u2019t clicked. Yesterday wasn\u2019t really hot even though Jeonbuk pushed them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey showed a lot of resilience as a group, they\u2019ve had four or five performances in a row. They have the home advantage as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDouglas Costa is a good player, played in some good leagues. I\u2019d love a player like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut I think their whole team dynamic is very good. They\u2019re a little more fluid in their buildup, harder to defend against.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKlimala up top, Sena behind, and Alex Grant at the back are good players. For me again, it\u2019s not been an issue with the players.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve actually had an improvement over the last couple of months in our attacking output. We\u2019ve had some big chances in big games. It\u2019s a process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not because there\u2019s a lack of effort. All those boys try their hardest, and sometimes it happens, sometimes when you\u2019re down on confidence, everything becomes heavier.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen you concede, it becomes a bigger obstacle to overcome. But I\u2019ve never questioned the players&#8217; desire to win the game.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the Phoenix have not had the season they envisioned at the start of the campaign, Italiano can see the roadmap to future success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople\u2019s expectation that we\u2019re going to be ready overnight is unrealistic. Has the football been great? Western United are second now, they had the same narrative and they\u2019ve only added one or two players.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think you need to have bad seasons in order to appreciate the good seasons. Young players need to go through this in order to appreciate how hard it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think on the other side of this we\u2019ve got a team that\u2019s going to be stronger.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not here to say you should have instant success, it takes time, it\u2019s gradual. That\u2019s the way football works.\u201d\u00a0<br><br>Giancarlo Italiano will be without young goalkeeper Alby Kelly-Heald for Sunday&#8217;s match after he suffered a shoulder injury at training.
